How affiliate links work
An affiliate link carries a tracking code that tells the retailer you came from our site. The retailer may place a cookie in your browser for a set period. If you buy during that time, they may pay us a small share of the sale. The price you pay is not affected.
What commissions don’t change
- Which products we include, rank or score.
- What we say about a product's weaknesses or who should skip it.
- Whether we recommend a product that doesn't pay us any commission at all.
Where you’ll see disclosures
Any page with affiliate links shows a short disclosure near the top, before the first link. Affiliate links are marked in our code as sponsored so search engines can tell them apart from ordinary links.
Programs
We may take part in affiliate programs run by equipment brands, retailers and affiliate networks. When a page links to Amazon, it does so as a participant in the Amazon Associates program: as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. We will list the programs we work with here as we join them.
