Independence
We decide what to cover and how to rank it. Brands cannot pay for a place in a guide, a better score or a positive verdict, and they do not see or approve our pages before they go live. If a brand ever sends us a product or other support, the page will say so.
Affiliate links and money
Some links earn us a commission when you buy. Editorial choices come first: we pick products on the research, and only then add retailer links. We try to link to more than one retailer where we can. A short disclosure appears near the top of any page with affiliate links, before the first link. Read the fullaffiliate disclosure.
Our byline
Articles are published under the byline Dylan, a pen name for the Home Gym Journal editorial team. The byline does not stand for a single credentialed expert, and we don't claim credentials, personal experience or hands-on testing that we don't have.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help collect sources, organise information and draft text. AI does not decide what we recommend. A person checks every fact against its source, edits the page and approves it before publishing. We don't publish AI-generated reviews, quotes or test results, and we don't use AI images to stand in for photos of a specific product. Illustrations of unbranded equipment are labelled as illustrations.
Accuracy and sourcing
- Every spec, price and claim comes from a source we name on the page.
- If we can't confirm a number, we leave it out rather than estimate it.
- We say who should skip a product, not only who should buy it.
- Prices carry the date we checked them.
Health content
Training and supplement pages are general information, not medical advice. They cite published research, avoid medical claims and promised results, and remind readers to speak with a doctor before starting a new program or supplement. Topics with higher health risk, such as pregnancy or medical conditions, are held until a qualified reviewer can check them.
Updates and corrections
We review guides as products, prices and warranties change. When we correct a factual error, we fix the page and update its date. To report a mistake, email [email protected] with the page link and what looks wrong.
